  • Financial Modeling Template

I am currently working on a Financial Modeling template in excel that attempts to pull all available information from free public sites.

Although there is more to Financial Modeling than simply ‘spreading’ information. At least this attempts to reduce the grunt work involved and to focus more on the art and technique of this job.

Here is what I plan to incorporate into the template:

    1. Data Extractor (Google Finance, Yahoo! Finance)
    2. Data Formatting (using my own template)
    3. Basic Calculations and forecasts (for ‘dirty’ Financial Modeling)
    4. Forecast Schedules and switches (for toggling between the basic forecasts and your own personalized forecasting.

If anyone wants to help me on this, I would greatly appreciate the help. If you do plan on using this, please accredit me and all of those who contribute out of respect. And please do not sell these for your personal gain.

You will need to turn the macros ‘ON’ if you want to use the import function

    Update 1:

Foregoing Google Finance. Yahoo Finance uses data from CapitalIQ - a widely used software in M&A and investment organizations. Completed importing Yahoo Income Statement and Summary Info. Linked some of the pages for easy navigation.

    Latest version here: Modeling(Public)v1

NOTE: Of course, since I will be using public sites: “Garbage in - Garbage out”. If information in sites like yahoo are inaccurate and/or unavailable, this template will obviously not work.
